Began
MatchOn was born from a personal journey to China, a trip that completely changed the way I see tea and wellness
Everywhere I looked, people had a cup of matcha in their hands. At first, I was reluctant to try it myself, but once I finally did, I became instantly addicted. The flavor, the calm energy, and the mental clarity it gave me were unlike anything else.
That experience sparked my curiosity about the matcha business. While Japan is traditionally seen as the world’s leading exporter of matcha, I kept hearing about japanese growing supply shortages. That’s when we decided to explore the potential of Chinese matcha, determined to find plantations that could deliver true quality at a fair and sustainable price.
The journey wasn’t easy. In China, large-scale production often overshadows craftsmanship and quality. But thanks to the personal relationships I built during my months living in Beijing, we were able to connect directly with trusted producers who share our passion for premium matcha.
Today, MatchOn proudly brings this carefully selected Chinese ceremonial-grade matcha to Europe, sustainably sourced, authentically produced, and offered at prices that make matcha accessible to everyone, with full respect for Japan’s long-standing tradition of excellence.
